Product description

What is Electrochlorination?

The process of electrochlorination is often used in large-scale water treatment applications however it is now available for smaller applications too. It is an efficient and cost effective way to produce chlorine using salt as a base product, reducing end user chemical handling.

The process uses electricity to produce chlorine gas which is a powerful disinfectant. This involves passing an electric current through a brine solution which breaks down the salt molecules and releases chlorine gas. This gas is used and becomes an aqueous solution - Sodium Hypochlorite.

Benefits of Hypo-Gen:
• Fully automated on-site production -including softener regeneration
• Reduced operator interaction - simply add salt
• Fully animated HMI - entire process mapped out on a single screen - see the system status at a glance
• Robust airflow management with safety interlocks and gas sensor
• Brine solution strength monitoring ensuring optimum performance
• Salt is safe and freely available.
• Environmentally friendly, non-toxic and little in the way of storage restrictions
• 5 year warranty as standard

Electrochlorinator designations are derived by their maximum generation / output, in Grams per Hour (Gr/Hr) or Grams (Gr). The higher this value, the more the generator outputs allowing larger volumes of water to be treated.

Where can Hypo-Gen be used?

Electrochlorination is suitable for use in a wide variety of applications - potable water; borehole water and of course swimming pools and spas to name just a few! Given its modular design, Hypo-Gen systems can be used on multiple applications on a single site. For example, a leisure centre could use a single generator to treat both their pool and spa or pool plus learner pool.

As with most chemical additions, the size of electrochlorinator required for your swimming pool or spa is directly related to your circulation rate.
