Procedure for returning goods

If any item is delivered incorrectly, damaged or faulty, or is to be returned under a warranty claim or for any other reason, the following procedure should be followed:-

Contact Certikin Customer Services Dept or Sales to obtain a Goods Return Authorisation (details of the original invoice/ delivery note will be required, along with the reason for return, and method of intended return at the time of your call).

This authorisation will be faxed or emailed to you and a copy of this must be clearly attached to the item or package being returned.

If a credit note, replacement part, or some other form of acknowledgement has not been received within two weeks of returning the item, please contact Customer Services to ensure that the 'query' is in the process of being dealt with. Items incorrectly ordered or not required, will be restocked without a restocking charge, providing they are returned in perfect condition (including the condition of their original carton if applicable) andproviding they are returned within two weeks of the original delivery date. Items 'older' than this or where the carton (if applicable) is damaged, will be subject to a restocking charge of 20% of the invoiced value.

Exceptions to item 5

All items that fall into the category of perishable products, or products subject to batch colour production. These cannot be returned and the main examples are listed below:-

  • Perishables - Chemicals / Fragrances / Test Tablets / Test Strips / Test Reagents / Tile Grout Adhesive / Glues and Cleaners / Solvent Cements
  • Batch Control - Paint / Copings / On SIte Lining Material
  • Any 'one off' special orders.

Please note - UK only - It is possible to return items on Certikin transport at the time of a regular delivery providing a Goods Return Authorisation has been obtained in advance (and space permitting) but a signed acknowledgement from the driver must be obtained for any such parts or equipment involved. A copy of this acknowledgement may be called for in the event of a subsequent query regarding such returns. See also Guideline note 4.

If it has been agreed for Certikin to issue replacement part(s) for repair of equipment still under warranty, an invoice for the part(s) will be raised accordingly. The invoice will be credited only when suspected faulty part(s) have been returned, inspected and found to be faulty. Please ensure that suspected faulty part(s) are returned in accordance with the above 'Goods Returns' procedure.
